Elaine and Michelle started Shelaine and create hair accessories, home decor, functional household items and holiday decor using polymer clay. They also does beautiful jewelry, belts, hatbands, hair accessories and home and holiday decor in Native American beading using a variety of stitches and techniques. Their pieces are created individually by hand, making each piece unique. Many patterns are original. They also do custom work.
They love creating unique art. In 2015 Elaine (polymer clay creator) was able to retire and had time to devote to learning new techniques and different ways to use polymer clay. Although Michelle (beading) still works full time, they wanted to try making a small business and sharing their creations. They enjoy selling at craft shows and flea markets and in shops, where we can personally interact with people who are interested in art.
One of our best selling items is Michelle’s loom beaded bracelets. They are unique, colorful, with a wide variety of colors and patterns as well as clasp choices. She also makes them in custom lengths and patterns.
“We are totally new to this shop and fairly new to Missouri. We love that this shop gives so many local artists and crafters a way to put their work out to the public in an attractive stable, consistent manner. The variety of inventory, the homey feel of the shop and the great location make it seem to be a place we hope to grow in and with.” - Elaine Price
